In replication to "Candidates owe us answers forward deficits, economic growth" [March 25 column] by way of Ralph Martire: After inheriting a $5 billion deficit and losing almost 250000 Illinois piece of works in the three years prior to coming into office, Gov Blagojevich intersect billions in spending by reducing the size of state management while making crucial investments in health care, education and economic progression in a continuously ascending gradation that are paying impressive dividends.

across the past two calendar years, Illinois has added 95000 piece of works which are more new work at jobss than any other Midwest state. Preparing family for these new jobs is vital to retaining our economic sharpness and that learning occurs, in and public of the classroom, over a lifetime.

The governor believes that a first-class education is the guide to achievement and has invested $23 billion in recently made known education funding, which is also giving 25000 children a head start by means of attending preschool. And he wants to make Illinois the first state to proffer universal preschool for every 3- and 4-year-old. He propos and enacted the first major overhaul of high denomination graduation standards in Illinois in 21 years. Blagojevich also wants to give a $1,000-a- year tax credit for scholars attending Illinois colleges.

Linking work force increase with economic development has been a top priority, which is for what cause or reason one of Gov. Blagojevich's first acts was to consolidate all training programs into our agency. It is ironic that Martire praised President Bush's emphasis in succession job training, when his policies have consistently wound our working families. He also didn't mention that the Bush administration has been closely studying what we are doing in Illinois.

Illinois' economy was a rudderles ship in 2003 and was begging for firm leadership. Gov. Blagojevich implemented his strategic vision that is focusing upon our greatest asset -- our nation -- by helping to create more piece of works and equipping them with the skills necessary to win eminence It is too bad Martire hasn't been following these accomplishments more closely
