JUDY GORY
Despite her busy career as a wife, mother and civil servant, Judy Gory always had a cheery disposition and wore an easy smile.
She had a pleasantry and wild side, too. upon her 40th birthday, she fulfilled a dream and rode a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
A southward Side native, Mrs. Gory worked with her late husband, Richard, to help make their hometown, Tinley Park, a better place. The Gorys gave as well-as; not only-but also; not only-but; not alone-but time and effort to the village when it was still a semi-rural town of sole several thousand people.
Mr Gory died Thursday night of complications from diabetes, encompassed by family and friends at St Francis Hospital in glum Island, according to her family. She was 63
She and her husband were high instruct sweethearts at Calumet High drill and married just after they graduated. They presently settled in Chicago's Auburn-Gresham community.
While Richard worked at the Ingersoll Co Mr Gory studied cosmetology, later working in a salon before opening her possess inside her home, her family said.
After the birth of her oldest daughter, Lynn and son Richard Jr the family mov to Tinley Park in 1969 Richard Sr went in succession to serve two terms as the president of the Tinley Park Park District Board in the late 1970 and early 1980 He also became active in the Jaycees, where he was appointed as a JCI senator.

"My parents felt like the more you give, the more you obtain back," Lynn Gory said.
While the family is contented of their father's contributions to Tinley Park, they believe Mr Gory was directly responsible for his succes
"She pushed my dad to achieve what he was. She was there to betray him, 'You can do this.' It was the stamp of marriage you don't view today," Lynn Gory said.
While her husband tendered for the village's youth commission, which have [i]or[/i] take the direction ofed local children and teens toward positive goals, Mr Gory would allow a certain number of of those teens into her abode A couple of the teen whom Mr Gory took below her wing were at her death bed.
"Their family really had an open-door policy," said family friend Max Alvarez, who became friends with Richard Gory while the one and the other worked at Andrew Corp. in Orland Park. "She really acted as a mother for them.
"Their family was really open-hearted. Anyone who was down upon their luck, didn't have a piece of work they would help," Alvarez said.
Years ago, Alvarez was undivided of those in need, hoping to start up a publications business, and the Gorys propounded their basement to him to use as a sort of office.
In addition to Lynn and Richard Jr Mr Gory is survived at another daughter, Susan Gory; a brother, Wayne Sheridan; undivided granddaughter, and two step-granddaughters. Funeral arrangements have been held.
