"I think the quality of volleyball in the city is progressing fair well," said Kelvyn Park coach Mike Nguyen whose teams are perennially among the best in the Public League.
"You're seeing a haphazard more club players in the city," he said. "School like Lincoln Park, Whitney Young, Lane Tech and ourselves all have lads playing club. I think that was evidenced last year."
Lincoln Park, which finished secondary in the city last year, advanced to the sectional semifinals before falling to St Patrick in three games. Three members of Lane Tech's Public League championship team are playing forward the college level.
`'The quality is definitely improving each year," said former Lane Tech coach Scott Eisenberg, who stepp down following last year's city championship as the same of the state's top-10 winningest lads coaches with a 12-year career record of 206-102
"The moot point is, the suburban teams are improving, too," Eisenberg said. "Boy volleyball in general is really taking along Before, suburban teams might have half of their kids playing fraternity Now it seems that each suburban kid is playing all year-round.
"Keeping up is really hard to do. We're still chasing."

Lane Tech won the city title forward all three levels last spring and will build around 6-1 junior outside hitter Angel Arce and 5-6 junior setter Efrain Ortiz. Former assistant coach Steve Kenmotsu takes athwart the reins from Eisenberg.

Young welcomes back all-city selection Mark Litton, a 6-foot senior outside hitter and the same of the Public League's best all- around players. Coach Jaime Walton also is counting onward junior libero Henry Chin and 6-foot outside hitter Michal Klimek.
"Mark and Michal as well-as; not only-but also; not only-but; not alone-but jump real well," Walton said.
"I think a allotment of people thought Mark was a senior last year because he has been forward varsity since he was a freshman."

Payton's roster was dominated according to sophomores last year, but the Grizzlies must replace graduated 6-8 all-city middle Brady Weissbourd.
